Marcus Burnett is an Emmy-nominated cinematographer with over two decades of experience shooting commercial, fashion, and documentary work for clients including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, and a wide range of brands and creative agencies. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and works regularly in New York.

Marcus began his career as a photo assistant in New York, spending six years working alongside the top names in fashion and commercial photography before transitioning to cinematography. He taught himself to shoot on a 16mm Bolex, and that hands-on, instinctive approach to image-making has defined his work ever since.

Equally at home on a tightly choreographed fashion set or deep inside the unpredictability of documentary work, Marcus brings the same discipline to both: think in story, move fast, find the most direct and beautiful line between idea and image. He thrives under pressure, collaborates closely with directors and clients, and has a particular gift for walking onto a set with minimal information and walking away with something compelling.
